Razor sharp technology solutions for national Australian law firm

Sparke Helmore is a national law firm with leading corporate and government clients. Founded in 1882 it started with an office in Newcastle and now have nine offices across Australia. Sparke Helmore is now a full-service Australian firm that delivers results through collaboration with its clients.

Covering five key areas of law including corporate & commercial, commercial insurance, government, statutory lines of insurance and workplace, it has more than 30 specialised areas of expertise and almost 900 staff.

Challenges

As Sparke Helmore continues to grow its client and employee base, its needs and requirements change including increased equipment quantities.

Due to a global shortage of technology and equipment Sparke Helmore sought a new supplier to help them with procurement needs. The requirements were:

The lack of devices and peripherals were causing delays, productivity, and disruption issues within business units.

Sparke Helmore connected with Virtu and discussed its requirements including the laptop model required to meet its needs. 

Solution

After investigation due to a shortage, Virtu was unable to locate and secure stock. Based on the specifications of the laptop required, Virtu presented an alternative that would suit Sparke Helmore’s needs, was more robust and would save money.

The alternative allowed Sparke Helmore staff to be mobile with the slimline and lightweight design, have added privacy with the protective screens, upgraded specs and sim card slots for remote connection.

The solution also included docking stations, mice, and keyboards.

Sparke Helmore was delighted with the alternative solution as it showed a proactive approach by Virtu, greater value for money and gave the firm peace of mind that the shortage wouldn’t impact its business further.

By selecting the alternative model, Sparke Helmore was able to save $100,000, which it used to purchase the additional equipment required.
